ABSTRACT
Historical conflict in Aceh for 30 years not only caused casualties and material losses, but also, has changed character of the people of Aceh from the people who love peace to the people who are familiar with violence. The earthquake and tsunami disaster of 26 December 2004 had been participated in making worst the suffering of children who live in Aceh. In that disaster, children and women are the most vulnerable and exploitation both at the time of disaster and post-disaster. The strengthening of the symbolism movement Islamic Shari'a in Aceh participated prevent healing trauma faced by children in Aceh. Psychosocial recovery programs often associated with Christianization issues by a group of people who use religion as an arena for political battle to retain power. Building a culture of peace and safe conditions for children in Aceh is a challenge for Child Protection Activists. Due to the children cared for and brought up with revenge messages (eg: since their birth most children in Aceh had their lullaby in songs that burning spirit of war) and they grow with a various questions like: why their parents were killed? Where were their graves? Why their playing environment was damaged, lost of their loved ones, their relatives, their possessions, which all of these finally transformed into revenge, then until now the trauma of child victims of armed conflict, either directly or indirectly, has not recovered properly and systematically. In the midst of the unanswered questions, all of a sudden the children in Aceh faced by the Earthquake and Tsunami as well as politicization fights of identity and power. For that, a mindset change and revives the values of peace are needed. Where the children are strengthened and participated to explore the culture of peace through the values that once grew in the life of the Acehnese people. Peace Education, Human Rights and Safe Conditions for children are conducted in a systematic and comprehensive way by involving all stakeholders both in Aceh, national and international.
